Agarwood, also known as oud, aloeswood, or gaharu, is a rare and highly prized resinous wood formed in certain trees of the Aquilaria and Gyrinops genera. It is known for its deep, complex fragrance and is widely used in perfumes, incense, and traditional medicine.
Because of overharvesting, Aquilaria trees are now endangered, and agarwood is cultivated through sustainable farming and artificial inoculation techniques.
