Welcome to Appellation
Myrrh is a warm, resinous, and slightly sweet balsamic note derived from the hardened sap of the Commiphora myrrha tree, native to East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It has been used for centuries in incense, medicine, and perfumery due to its deep, rich, and meditative aroma.
Myrrh is produced by tapping the tree, allowing its sap to harden into resin, which is then collected, cleaned, and processed through steam distillation or solvent extraction to create essential oil or absolute for perfumery.
The process of extracting myrrh is natural and has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years.
