Amyris

Wild-harvested Amyris (Amyris balsamifera), also known as West Indian Sandalwood for its woody, calming aroma, has a high percentage of valerianol, a sesquiterpenol that gives it both antioxidant and antimicrobial activity[17].

Amyris

Amyris is a genus of flowering trees and shrubs in the Rutaceae family, commonly known as torchwood or West Indian sandalwood. The most well-known species is Amyris balsamifera, which is often used as a substitute for true sandalwood due to its similar scent.

While Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) and Amyris are sometimes confused because of their aromatic properties, they come from different botanical families and have distinct scents and uses.
